This next Friday, December 11, Amarillo’s dream pop garage band Mount Ivy, will be releasing their highly anticipated full-length debut, Wabi Sabi. Over the last few months, the four-piece has shared swooping guitar driven singles “Space Camp” and “Fool’s Gold Paradise.” Wabi Sabi comes off the heels of their excellent debut EP, The Wilted Day: B-Sides, released back in February.
Like Wilted Day, Wabi Sabi finds the space rockers continuing to explore the lush, open soundscapes of the dream pop and ambient worlds. Now though, as hinted previously with single, “Space Camp,” leading the way, giant, crunchy guitar riffs and rhythms are prominently grounding. They feel more concrete and ushers them as not just a Broderick Adams bedroom project, but whole-heartedly in the garage.
Listen to New Slang exclusive stream of Wabi Sabi below until the album is officially released next Friday. In addition, Mount Ivy will have an official album release show Friday (Dec 11) in Amarillo at The 806 (More details here).
