Folk singer-songwriter Levi Methvin has announced that his debut extended play, Llano Estacado Blues, will be released this upcoming Tuesday, August 11.

Methvin, originally from Levelland, recorded Llano Estacado Blues while living abroad this past year. While in Spain, the folk artist recorded the five tracks in a makeshift “recording studio” he made out of his apartment closet.

Though armed with only his acoustic guitar, the raspy-voiced Methvin breathes life into the sparse arrangements on his debut piece with finger-picking accents and the occasional over-dubbed harmony vocals.

Listen to “Drawing From an Empty Well,” the first track from Llano Estacado Blues below. Methvin plays it like a lulling personal post-breakup letter that never made its’ way to its’ intended destination.

Tracklist

01) Drawing From an Empty Well
02) Farther Down
03) Girl Why So Cold?
04) Uneasy Lights
05) You’ve Become a Memory
