News: Shakey Graves at Cactus Theater Announced

Shakey Graves–Alejandro Rose-Garcia–has announced a new, upcoming show at Cactus Theater in Lubbock on Thursday, October 22. The folk songwriter has taken the world by storm the last few years–especially after the release of his sophomore full-length album, And the War Came, released this past year.

We first got word of the energetic and sensational songsmith when the he performed with a number of bands such as Thrift Store Cowboys, Whiskey Shivers, Daniel Markham, and Rodney Parker & The 50 Peso Reward when the folks from Live & Breathing made their way to Lubbock some years ago–what where ultimately dubbed “The Lubbock Sessions.” Recorded during the cold winter in a barn out at The Ranching Heritage Center, Rose-Garcia undeniably stood out.

Tickets go on sale Friday. We’ll keep you updated. For more on Rose-Garcia, read our last interview with him here.

Watch the following Shakey Graves at The Lubbock Sessions–“Built to Roam,” “Late July,” “Bully’s Lament,” “Tomorrow,” “Word of Mouth,” and “Daisy Chains”–below.

Of course, this is just one date in a lengthy Summer/Fall Tour for Rose-Garcia. Along with a handful of music festivals, Shakey Graves will be joined by the likes of Avett Brothers, Angus & Julia Stone, Trampled By Turtles, Elephant Revival, Tennis, and Those Darlins at selected dates.
