Sturgill Simpson is playing Lubbock on April 4. According to Simpson’s website, the venue for said show is still in the “TBD” file. The announcement came along with a string of shows announced for Texas dates in the month of April–April 2 at Stubb’s in Austin, April 3 at Billy Bob’s in Ft. Worth, and April 4 at a TBD venue in Lubbock.

The country singer-songwriter is hot the release of 2013’s breakout album Metamodern Sounds in Country Music, which has seemingly broken down barriers, stereotypes in country music, and been a rallying cry as a sign for a better future in country music–all of which Simpson has simply shrugged off. Earlier this month, the country crooner announced that he had officially signed to the record label Atlantic Records.

As of yet, there’s still no word on when these Lubbock tickets will be going on sale or where Simpson will be playing, but we’ll keep you informed as soon as we get the information. Stay tuned.

UPDATE: Sturgill Simpson will play The Lubbock Memorial Civic Theatre.
