Here at New Slang, more than anything else, we’re interested in telling stories about and from musicians, songwriters, and bands. A vital key to our formula is capturing these musicians through photography. Candid moments and live concert shots are part of that balance with the words that you read. It’s part of the story.
A couple of weeks ago, while on his way back from a photo shoot, New Slang photographer Landan Luna had all of his camera gear stolen. The losses total roughly $20,000 worth of cameras and accessories.
At this point, finding all or any of Luna’s camera gear is pretty slim. We’re asking you to help Luna off with a good start at replacing his gear.
We’ve started a You Caring fund page to help Luna recoup some of his losses. You can find that here. We’d appreciate any and all donations, views, and page shares.
In addition, Sunday June 1, at The Blue Light, we’re having a show featuring a number of artists to help Luna out as well where all door proceeds will be going to Luna. For more updates on the benefit, attend our Facebook event here. We’ll have more information on that show soon.
