We’re introducing the opportunity for you, the reader, to fill out your own personal bracket and submit it to us for a chance to win some pretty nice incentives. Much like in March where everyone fills out their NCAA Men’s Basketball bracket, you can now fill out your Ryan Bingham Song Tournament bracket.
As you know, this year’s 2013 Kalf Fry (Sept. 13) will be headlined by Bingham, Joe Ely, and Jason Eady. In conjunction with Roadhouse Tickets, we’ll be giving away two tickets to the Kalf Fry for whoever has the most accurate bracket.
Additionally this time around, we’ll be tackling 68 Bingham songs (Our Turnpike Troubadours was 32 seeds and our Dirty River Boys was 24 seeds) and pitting them against each other over the course of two and a half weeks. We’ll be taking more time hashing out the ins-and-outs of every match-up.
For those of you not familiar with our Artist Song Tournaments, here’s what you need to know. Essentially, we take an artist/band’s song catalog and rank the songs by popularity. Songs deemed more popular, the higher the seeds. Once the songs are seeded, we then have an anonymous voting pool of colleagues, songwriters, and musicians vote on each individual match-up by casting their vote for the overall better song.
As noted earlier, our Ryan Bingham Song Tournament will be taking place over the course of two and a half weeks starting Tuesday, August 20.
