Come this January, Live & Breathing will be doing a Lubbock takeover so to speak spotlighting some of Texas’ greatest talents. Live & Breathing for the last couple of years has traveled around the country recording sessions with a number of songwriters and bands including Ray Wylie Hubbard, Shovels & Rope, Damien Jurardo, American Aquarium, and The Black Lillies.

Starting the week of January of January 7, the Live & Breathing team will be recording a week’s worth of talent from Lubbock as well as a few other bands coming in from Denton, Austin, and a few other places. In addition, The Blue Light will be hosting a week’s worth of shows with the majority of those artists.

Currently, the lineup looks something like this.

Tuesday: Thrift Store Cowboys, Brandon Adams, and Rattlesnake Milk
Wednesday: Charlie Shafter and Warren Jackson Hearne
Thursday: Telegraph Canyon, The Glossary, and Daniel Markham
Saturday: Rodney Parker, Whiskey Shivers, and Kris Hutson

Each show is $5 individually or $15 for all four shows. You can purchase tickets at Ralph’s Records. Check out more information on The Blue Light shows here.

Here at New Slang, we’ll be doing our best to keep you updated on the event as well as bringing you interviews spotlighting everyone involved. You can head over to liveandbreathing.com to check out more things on Live & Breathing and watch some of their amazing videos.
